SHIN PAIN
‘Shin splints’ is a common term for medial tibial stress syndrome (MTSS). It refers to pain felt anywhere along the shin from the knee and down to the ankle. MTSS can be attributed to an overloading of the lower limb due to biomechanical irregularities and an escalation of stress exerted on the tibia.
At Right Path Podiatry we assess the pain at the outside of your foot and diagnose it. We then focus on the best prevention and treatment plan which can include a rehabilitation program, changes in lifestyle, change of footwear and possibly orthotics if there is an underlying biomechanical cause.
