KNEE ARTHRITIS
Arthritis of the knee joint is a serious, painful disease that gets worse with age. Osteoarthritis is the most common type, which is a degenerative joint disease that can gradually wear down the cartilage in the joint. The most common symptoms are pain, swelling and stiffness of the knee joint. There are many treatments that might help with the symptoms. Common causes of knee arthritis can range from previous trauma to the area, poor biomechanics of the feet, obesity and genetics.
At Right Path Podiatry we assess the pain in the knee and diagnose it. We then focus on the best prevention and treatment plan which can include a rehabilitation program, change in lifestyle, change of footwear and possibly orthotics if there is an underlying biomechanical cause.
