HYPERMOBILITY SYNDROMES
Joint hypermobility syndrome is a genetic condition that involves extreme flexibility along with pain and other symptoms. Many people have very flexible joints. But if you also have pain and other symptoms, it may be joint hypermobility syndrome. This differs from “flexibility” which is the description of normal range. It is more commonly found in females and can increase risk of injury or future problems.
At Right Path Podiatry we assess your feet to make sure that the correct diagnosis is made. We then focus on the best prevention and treatment plan which can include stretching, exercises, changes in lifestyle, change of footwear and possibly orthotics if there is an underlying biomechanical cause.
