CUSTOM MADE ORTHOTIC THERAPY
Orthotics are customised devices that sit underneath the foot and inside the shoe to support and improve foot function and lower leg mechanics.

When required, they are prescribed after a biomechanical analysis, and when abnormal foot and leg mechanics have been recognised to be contributing to your injury or imbalance. One ideally uses these in conjunction with supportive footwear, changes in lifestyle, and an individualised rehabilitation plan to help you reach your goals faster.
How do orthotics work?
Orthotics redistribute pressure, stop end range of motion and change forces that are contributing to an injury or weakness. When used correctly, they assist in the healing of foot and leg injuries, improve athletic performance and increase day-to-day comfort.
Here are some examples of foot conditions that can be treated with orthotics:

-
ACHILLES TENDINOPATHY
-
KNEE PAIN
-
FLAT FEET
-
HIGH ARCHES
-
FOOT INJURIES

Why choose Right Path Podiatry to make your Orthotics?
I am expertly trained and have extensive experience in using orthotics to treat a wide range of conditions. Additionally, I use the latest technology and precision 3D foot scanning to design and make your custom orthotic for maximum efficacy and comfort. Further to this, I work with you to tailor your orthotic to your individual needs.

I hear countless stories of frustration and disappointment from individuals that are given hard, rigid, bulky and uncomfortable orthotics that are impractical to use and provide minimal to no improvement. I pride myself on the ability to design and make low profile, slim and comfortable orthotics that can fit into dress shoes, casual shoes and sports shoes alike.

The way in which I design an orthotic is to support the natural movement of the foot, while limiting end range of motion which results with improving foot function. This means that the muscles of the foot and ankle can work seamlessly with them and ensures that your orthotics are working with you as your body moves efficiently through the gait cycle.
Orthotics are never a standalone treatment, and I will recommend footwear changes, lifestyle changes and a rehabilitation program in some cases.
